Prospective clinical study

The first prospective clinical study of 51 patients treated with an osseointegrated prosthetic system for transfemoral amputation is published in the Bone and Joint Journal. The study presents a cumulative survival rate of 92% at two years combined with enhanced prosthetic use and mobility, fewer problems and improved quality of life, which supports the ‘revolutionary change’ that patients with transfemoral amputations have reported following treatment with osseointegrated percutaneous prostheses. See http://www.bjj.boneandjoint.org.uk/content/96-B/1/106.abstract
