Oslo University Hospital has performed its first surgeries with Integrum’s OPRA[TM] Implant System

Mölndal, Sweden, April 5, 2022 – Integrum (publ) (Nasdaq First North Growth Market: INTEG B) today announced that Oslo University Hospital (Rikshospitalet) has performed its first surgeries with Integrum’s OPRATM Implant System. Two patients with above-knee amputations have had their stage one surgeries performed, meaning the fixture is now implanted into the bone.

The surgeries follow after the initiation of a bone-anchored prosthetics program that The Department of Orthopaedics at Rikshospitalet announced in July 2021. Within the program, Rikshospitalet will treat both transhumeral (above-elbow) and transfemoral (above-knee) amputees with Integrum’s OPRATM Implant System.

Professor Magne Røkkum is responsible for the program and performed together with colleagues and Professor Rickard Brånemark the first two surgeries.

“We have trained and prepared for these surgeries the last couple of months. As we successfully completed the first two surgeries, we are encouraged to continue expanding our orthopaedic osseointegration program as it offers a much-wanted alternative for our patients,” comments Professor Magne Røkkum.

“Rikshospitalet in Oslo is one of the world’s top hospitals. We are happy to see that another team of leading orthopedics is implementing our system as we know it is a game-changer for patients receiving the treatment,” says Maria Lopez, CEO of Integrum.

Integrum’s OPRATM Implant System is a bone-anchored system based on osseointegration. As the prostheses are directly attached to the bone, the use of a socket is avoided, leading to fewer complications and better quality of life for the patient.
